It just started to rain

It reached 39 degrees today. I spent the day by the beach for the Melbourne Cup, drinking whatever I could think of at the top of my head by the time I got to the bar, only getting drinks for the purpose of eating the ice inside them.
I came home and melted some more, eating iceblocks and even just icecubes alone.
All of a sudden I saw my dogs bowl of water and it was rippling. I ran outside and my mum followed, desperate for the cool rain.
We were laughing and enjoying the drop in temperature so much.
10 seconds later, the rain stopped completely and we instantly felt hot again as we stared at eachother blankly wondering how the heck that just happened.
Not to be defeated, we each picked up a water spray on the back table and sprayed eachother several times before retreating inside.

Satisfied.

I'm home

and kind of blank and I’m looking forward to getting back into things.
